Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 14 series earlier this year. The company is preparing to enter such a price segment in which it did not have presence earlier. It is planning to launch a smartphone at a price of around Rs 50,000.
Xiaomi CMO, Anuj Sharma, while talking to Gadgets 360, said that the new smartphone will bridge the gap between Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G and Xiaomi 14. The price of 8 GB + 256 GB variant of Redmi Note 13 Pro + 5G is Rs 30,999 and 12 GB + 512 GB is Rs 34,999. The price of Xiaomi 14 is Rs 69,999. “I don’t think there is a very good smartphone in the Rs 50,000 segment. We want to bring a better device in it,” Sharma said.
Selected smartphone companies have introduced their devices in this segment. However, OnePlus has a strong position in this. The company’s 11R and 12R have received good response from customers.
Apart from this, there is Apple’s SE and Samsung’s Galaxy A55 which was recently launched at a price of around Rs 45,000. “There is a significant price point of Rs 50,000 in the premium segment.
It is similar to Rs 9,999 in the economy segment.
A few years ago, when online sales grew, products priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999 were considered differently in the country,” Sharma said. Similarly, the perception of the customer changes a lot between Rs 50,000 and Rs 50,000. The Rs 50,000 segment has been forgotten in the last few years.”
this years Xiaomi Xiaomi has grown a lot in the smartphone market. T
he company’s Redmi Note and Xiaomi 14 series have been well received. According to a report by market research firm IDC, it ranks first in the smartphone segment under $100. Sharma said that the company has paid attention to the feedback received from its community and the learnings from the launch of Xiaomi 13 Pro last year.
The big change for the company was to balance its product portfolio to make it easier for customers to choose.
